CI2C 2026 in Essaouira (29-31 October 2026): launch of the call for papers

The International Center for Research and Capacity Building (CI2RC), the Friedrich Naumann Foundation Morocco (FFN), ENERGIES 2050 and the Essaouira School of Technology – Cadi Ayyad University (ESTE-UCA), are pleased to announce the official launch of the call for papers for the International Climate Change Conference – CI2C 2026.

Organised from 29 to 31 October 2026 in Essaouira (Morocco), this 7th edition of the conference will be held under the theme:

Finance, Research and Nature for Just and Sustainable Climate Solutions

Over the years, CI2C has established itself as an international platform for dialogue, cooperation and scientific reflection, bringing together researchers, institutions, public decision-makers, economic actors, territorial stakeholders and civil society around key contemporary climate challenges.

In a context marked by climate urgency, geopolitical challenges, energy transition issues and growing territorial adaptation needs, CI2C 2026 aims to strengthen the links between research, public action, territorial innovation and the mobilisation of finance.

The call for papers is open to a wide range of scientific, technical and operational contributions. The conference themes will notably include:

  • climate science and emerging technologies,
  • biodiversity and ecosystems,
  • agriculture and food security,
  • health and human dimensions,
  • energy transition and decarbonisation,
  • sustainable finance,
  • climate justice,
  • governance and public policies,
  • as well as integrated territorial solutions.

The conference will welcome oral presentations, scientific posters, panels, roundtables and online sessions, within a dynamic fostering interdisciplinary exchanges and the co-construction of concrete solutions.

The deadline for abstract submissions is set for 15 July 2026.
