Laurence Halphen, holder of the prestigious Agrégation in History and Geography and an Exceptional Grade Professor, dedicated her career to teaching, training, and transmitting the knowledge and values essential for building a more just and sustainable world.
Since beginning her career in 1984 in the Créteil academy, and later in the Versailles academy, she has held various roles, ranging from teaching to teacher training and pedagogical supervision. She concluded her career at the Lycée du Parc Impérial in Nice, from 2017 until her retirement in 2024.
As a Sustainable Development Education (EDD) coordinator in the Nice academy, Laurence guided eco-delegates in innovative projects such as climate negotiation simulations, emphasizing the importance of nurturing engaged citizens aware of societal and environmental challenges. Her commitment inspired generations of students to become agents of change.
A staunch advocate for human rights and the fight against climate change, Laurence has also played a central role within the ENERGIES 2050 association. Since 2017, she has promoted gender equality and mobilized citizens and cultural actors around the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By leading the artistic and citizen initiative ART’S PLANET since joining the association, she has contributed to demonstrate how art and creativity can raise awareness and unite people to address climate and social challenges.
Convinced that climate justice relies on intergenerational dialogue, she has participated in international conferences and contributed to the association’s publications. Her approach is grounded in a humanistic vision: teaching, knowledge, skills, and transmission are the foundations of a sustainable transformation of our societies.
In 2024, Laurence Halphen was elected President of the ENERGIES 2050 association. In this role, she continues her commitment to building a future that is inclusive, supportive, and respectful of both people and the planet.
