DDHU

The DDHU (Universal Declaration of the Rights of Humanity), is an association that carries and promotes a founding text recognising collective rights and duties of Humanity towards itself, future generations, other species and nature. Designed to complement existing human rights instruments, the DDHU provides a universal ethical and legal framework fully integrating ecological, climate and responsibilities across generations.

Initiated in the context of the preparation of COP21 and submitted to the United Nations in 2016, the Declaration is structured around four principles, six rights and six duties, aiming to lay the foundations for a just, sustainable and inclusive future.

Today, the association brings together a growing network of states, local authorities, legal professionals, civil society organisations, companies and citizens around the world.

ENERGIES 2050 has been associated with the DDHU since the very first stages of the initiative, contributing to its dissemination and to placing it in dialogue with issues of ecological transition, climate justice and international governance. In addition, Stephane Pouffary, founder of ENERGIES 2050, is an Ambassador of the DDHU and contributes to the promotion of the Declaration within various networks and spaces for dialogue.
