Afrique Environnement Plus (AEP) is a pan-African information agency specialising in environmental communication, established in 2009 and based in Brazzaville (Republic of Congo). Active mainly in Central Africa, West Africa and the Maghreb, AEP also operates more broadly across the Francophone African space and within major international forums, drawing on an extensive network of partners, correspondents and experts across the continent and beyond.
AEP develops an integrated approach to environmental communication, combining information, analysis, awareness-raising and capacity building. The organisation publishes a magazine, operates an audiovisual production unit, including Afrique Environnement Plus TV, and manages several digital platforms dedicated to the dissemination of reports, documentaries and educational content. Its productions address key themes such as nature conservation, forest governance, renewable energy, climate change mitigation and adaptation, terrestrial and marine pollution, as well as sustainable development and the green economy in Africa.
Convinced that environmental issues remain insufficiently understood by large segments of African populations, AEP positions itself as a reference platform for knowledge dissemination, the promotion of positive initiatives and the strengthening of capacities among field actors. Its activities are based on investigations, field reporting, interviews and an active presence at regional and international events.
ENERGIES 2050 and AEP have been privileged partners since 2011, following COP17 in Durban, where both organisations decided to combine their expertise and networks to act jointly in Africa, particularly in the Congo Basin, as well as within major international arenas.
Stéphane Pouffary, founder of ENERGIES 2050, chairs the Scientific Committee of AEP’s publications. Recently, ENERGIES 2050 was also associated with the organisation of the 1st Multi-Stakeholder Forum for the Development of Environmental Communication and Information in the Congo Basin (FOMADECIE-BC), held in Brazzaville in April 2025 and organised by AEP and its partners. Raoul SIEMENI, Director General and founder of AEP, is also a member of the Scientific Committee of ENERGIES 2050.
