First edition and launch of the international exhibition

«ART’s PLANET by ENERGIES 2050»

ENERGIES 2050 presented in several spaces at COP 22 an exhibition highlighting creations received in the framework of the international artistic competition launched in 2015 under cover of the 4th edition of the international initiative “Shake Your Earth!“.

The objective of the competition:

“My climate today,

My climate in 20 years,

and me ? “

was that everyone at his level could testify to the reality of the impacts of climate change today and what they could be like in 20 years while confronting these findings and projections with his own daily realities.

Several hundred contributions from around the world were received in 2015 and also in 2016.

From the 2015 edition to the 2016 edition, ENERGIES 2050 wanted to place the questioning of the individual in the collective.

In 2016, as part of the preparations for the 22nd Conference of the Parties, which took place from 7 to 18 November 2016, the French-American artist Yaël ENIVEL, also Artistic Director of ENERGIES 2050, produced a series of artistic compositions Which were unveiled in Marrakech.

The exhibition, launched under the name “ART’s PLANET by ENERGIES 2050” had as its theme:

“Our climate today,

Our climate in 20 years,

And us ? “

The exhibition was visible for the entire duration of COP22 in the so-called Blue Zone reserved for negotiations, accessible on accreditation to the parties involved in the negotiations on the Francophonie pavilion and also on the ENERGIES 2050 pavilion. At the same time, it was visible in the so-called “Green Zone” for non-state actors and civil society in the youth pavilion of the Swiss cooperation and also in the ENERGIES 2050 pavilion, as well as on several other stands of our partners.

Artistic creations are sometimes funny, sometimes moving, but in any case they bear witness to the richness and diversity of the perception of reality, but also to the desire to take action to combat the consequences of climate change here and elsewhere.

The exhibition was accompanied by participative and inclusive debates to invite action based on a shared understanding of the challenges and opportunities for action.

The ENERGIES 2050 association decided to make this initiative a long-term one, because of the enthusiasm that the exhibition aroused among our partners and the public. Thus, at the end of COP22, the works composing the exhibition were made available to ENERGIES 2050 partners to continue the adventure beyond Marrakech.

The 2016 edition of the ART’s PLANET by ENERGIES 2050 exhibition has already allowed many artists to express themselves according to their talents, whether it be drawing, painting, comic strip, but also photography or poems… We hope that each next edition will carry the same success and that it will include the same diversity of geographical and cultural horizons.
