7th International Green Business Forum

From 17 to 19 May 2016, the 7th International Green Business Forum will be held in Pointe-Noire, Republic of Congo.

The ENERGIES 2050 association is a partner of this high level forum which will bring together, as in previous editions, more than 500 actors from all over the world to discuss the issue of:

Innovation and technology for the development of the green economy in sub-Saharan Africa.

Context (excerpt from the scoping note):

The aim of the International Green Business Forum (FIGB) is to develop knowledge of the major challenges of the green economy in Central Africa, with a focus on initiatives in this area in the region.

The forum also aims to promote the exchange of information and good practices, promote free discussion around the challenges of implementing the green economy and facilitate meetings to develop international exchanges by inviting members of Governments, the public sector, academics, investors, entrepreneurs and representatives of civil society.

Its main objectives are:
  • The promotion of technologies applied to thematic areas such as climate, town planning, agriculture, entrepreneurship, renewable energy, investments, financing and culture
  • Recognition of the importance of the central role of development and technology transfer as a vehicle for the green economy in Africa
  • Better coordination in the implementation of science, technology and innovation policies with sectoral policies such as spatial planning and development, housing, climate, investment, Culture, agriculture and entrepreneurship
